Lady Lucia Update (February Edition!)
Hey, readers!
Hope your resolutions are going strong, and that your winters aren’t too cold. I have some writing to catch up on, so let’s jump right in!
MY LIFE (at the moment)
Just to share a small bit of my actual life with all of you–I’m currently in the midst of moving. It’s a good move, mind you, but it still comes with all the tedious parts. Since mid-January, I’ve been in that lovely limbo of living with friends while I wait for my new place to become available; it will be another week or so until I’m somewhat settled again.
If you’ve been wondering why I’ve been slightly behind on my writing, this is why! My daily/weekly rituals have been disrupted by all of this, but I’m doing my best to rally until I’m moved in and can get back to my normal schedule and writing atmosphere. My first priority will be getting the last two Patreon posts completed, as I want to make sure all of you that pledge get your money’s worth! Then I’ll tackle ‘The Babysitter’ that I teased with a post last Saturday.
Long story short, there’s a reason I’m behind and I’m working on it. As always, I want to be transparent with all of you as I continue my writing ventures.

You are all AMAZING. In less than a year since launching my Patreon, we’ve hit the first major milestone. That is seriously awesome. I had no idea how this whole writing thing would go when I first started out, but this has certainly exceeded whatever initial expectations I had. I’m continually grateful for all the support; thank you all so much!
As promised, my word count is going to increase across the board from here on out. That means both website and Patreon stories.
Now, the march to being a part-time writer begins! For the next pledge goal . . .
Part-Time Writer: $3000
Publish a new, full-length story.
When we hit this number, I will post a story in its entirety on my Patreon. Think along the lines of “The Road Trip” or “The Prefect” in terms of length. Rather than 40+ installments, however, I plan on posting the whole thing at once–or perhaps a few back to back parts on the same day if Patreon has a character limit.
I already have an outline and a partial draft of this work, but it’s currently shelved while I play catch-up. However, I plan to have it completed and edited long before we hit the next goal. No teases for now; you’ll have to wait (and pledge) and see!

A new short story, “The Journalist” has been posted on my Patreon. Right now, the first third is available, but I’ll have the rest up by the end of the week. I’ll also toss a link up on the “Exclusive Content” page, so no one has to excessively scroll to find it later on. I do the same thing for all my Patreon stories, if anyone wants to more easily find earlier parts of my stories over there!
This is an ongoing count. There will be another short story when we reach 200 patrons, and so on. The more of an official writer I become, the more content I want to have out there for everyone to read.
UPCOMING POSTS
And now, what everyone actually comes to these updates for! As usual, “The Road Trip” got the most votes for Patreon stories, though one third of voters requested “The Tutor;” the former will have weekly updates, and the latter will be bumped to the top of the rotation. As for my website stories, we have a unique three-way tie. “The Babysitter,” “The Faire,” and “The Prefect” have been equally voted on, so I’ll make sure to split my focus between all of those this month.
